Thank You!

We always appreciate feedback from our customers, but occasionally we hear such a glowing review that we need to say a very special thank you!  Mike Messagie wrote us such a review.  Thank you very much, Mike!

We now have purchased twice from these guys and both times, the staff has been excellent, helping us choose the right tiles and educating me on how to install. Jonathan was even taking my calls on his day off to make sure I got the right tile and when I made a mistake and ordered the wrong thing, they swapped it out quickly. These guys are fantastic and I recommend everyone use them!

Thanks for letting us help!

Strawberry Corn Salsa

Written by creatingyourspace on . Posted in Entertaining

Guacamole is one way to enjoy avocados in your summer dips but it can also elevate your salsas as well. Strawberries are in season and can add a surprising flavor to your salsas. Add in the summertime staple, roasted corn, to the mix and you just might have yourself one of the freshest summertime salsas on the table!

The addition of avocado to these flavors adds a creamy texture that balances out the crunchy roasted corn and red onions, and sweet juices from the strawberries. This salsa is versatile, and while great when paired with your traditional crunchy tortilla chips, is sure to be a hit when added to any burrito, taco, burger or rice dish.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of corn kernels from a fresh ear of corn, husked and cut from the cob. You can substitute if needed when no fresh corn is available to you.
  • 3/4 cup of diced red onion
  • 1 1/4 cups of finely diced strawberries
  • 1/2 a jalapeño pepper
  • 1 diced avocado
  • Small handful of diced cilantro
  • 1/4 cup green onions diced
  • Juice of one lemon
  • Feta cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Lightly drizzle olive oil over your corn, diced red onion, and jalapeño. Roast the pepper whole.
  2. Arrange on a baking sheet and bake for about 10-12 minutes. Your vegetables should be lightly browned and the juices will be aromatic.
  3. Turn the heat to low broil and roast for an additional 2 minutes. Keep an eye on them so that they do not burn.
  4. Remove from heat and allow ingredients to cool.
  5. Once ingredients are at room temperature, dice the jalapeño and set aside.
  6. In a bowl, gently mix all ingredients together and add a dash of salt to taste.
  7. Add in the diced jalapeño to taste, keeping in mind that you can always kick up the heat if need be by adding more.
  8. Top salsa with feta cheese and serve!

Summer Color Trends

Written by creatingyourspace on . Posted in Summer

This summer the hottest trend for interior colors are lemon yellow and lime green! Yes pair both of these brightly colored hues together. This color choice is perfect for a sizzling hot summer!

Lemon and lime are great for interior or exterior use. When paired together they brighten a room and actually energize it. One cannot help feeling uplifted and energized in a space that utilizes this fabulous color combination.

The best way to execute this color scheme is by using these two colors in the accessories, accent pillows, accent rugs, and table cloths. Lemon and lime can work for the spring and summer months, but they are not going to be very successful during fall and winter. That is why it is helpful to use items in these color tones that can be used seasonally.

The backdrop colors that work best for this color duo are white, cream, gray, orange or even seafoam blue. Stick with light colors for the background. Adding the lemon and lime colors to a dark brown can create too much contrast. This creates an overall look that is not fresh and energized, but overpowering instead.

Feel free to set out bowls of lemons and limes to further enhance this fun color scheme. There is nothing better than adding life to a room, than adding real fruits that do not spoil quickly. There is also the added bonus of making lemonade and limeade when it is time to use the produce.

Rooms suited best for this color combination is kitchens, bathrooms, dining rooms and living rooms. Avoid this color combination in bedrooms, as it is so energizing it will make it hard to sleep in the space.

Lastly this striking look also works well in an outdoor living space. Spruce up your outdoor living space with instant life and excitement by using lemon and lime colors!
