There are some big trends coming our way for 2017. Several styles and different color palettes are on the rise. Find out in this read what to look out for!

Earth tones are making a comeback this year. However it is not muted earth tones, but the louder, deeper colors are going to be popular. Mustard yellow, cinnamon, lush greenery and terracotta are in our future. To go along with the naturalistic trend of earth tones tribal art and sculpture will also be on the scene.

Highly textured fabrics will be showing up on chair and sofa upholstery. This means crushed velvet, valor and other thick, luxurious fabrics will be used. Using these types of fabric will give spaces a more luxurious look and feel.

Metallic accents such as silver, copper, gold and brass will be big again this year. As design styles turn into a rustic and organic direction there needs to be bright and shiny accents to offset the naturalistic vibe. These metal accents provide a bright yet bold touch that will only make the earth tones and various textures look more refined. Brass and gold hardware is here to stay for this year. Embrace these finishes, they will dress up any setting. They also work well for traditional and contemporary design styles.

Terrazzo has become more popular over the past few years. It will become even bigger this year. This is a material not just used for floors. It will be seen on walls and countertops as well. It is an extremely durable material that is also eco-friendly.

2017 interiors are going to look more world traveled and multicultural. Antique globes and suitcases will be showing up in the accessory markets. Be on the lookout for custom artisan pieces that will also make it into many designer spaces.

High quality rugs with a thick pile will be seen everywhere. These rugs will mostly be patternless. They will be used for their layering ability and high level of comfort (just like the highly textured upholstery).

2017 will have a more casual and lived in appearance, with several touches of modern comfort and luxury!
