A fireplace is a wonderful thing to have in a home. It often serves as a focal point in a room, and provides a warm cozy environment. Here are a few decorating tips for decorating around a fireplace.

The style of the fireplace will influence how you decorate the room. Is your fireplace modern, traditional, or floating? Stone fireplaces have a rustic charm and make the environment cozier. If you have a stone fireplace, you might go for a log cabin type décor. Big leather chairs, and plush rugs over hardwood floors. Wooden side tables are a nice addition to this type of room. To decorate around this type of fireplace, and depending on the size of the room you might consider a modern couch or sectional that has the same color palette as the fireplace. You could continue the modern theme with modern coffee table with a glass or marble top. For more storage space, try an industrial storage coffee table. If you have a floating fireplace, they usually hang from the ceiling and can complement many different decorating styles from traditional to modern.
