If you are blessed enough to live in an area that experiences the season of fall, you have the opportunity to throw an amazing fall-themed party! Take advantage of the cool, breezy days by having a mini fall festival right in your backyard! We have plenty ideas for you to use at your party that will get guests interacting and having a blast.

Fall Party Ideas:

Pumpkin Carving. Pumpkin carving is a great activity for all ages! You can provide stencils and permanent markers for guests to use on their pumpkins. They can choose to carve the pumpkin or make an artistic design.

Hot Cider. As the temperatures begin to drop, you can pass out mugs of hot cider for your guests. They can enjoy the cider while socializing with other guests.

Apple Bobbing. If you are having kids at your fall party, apple bobbing is a must! All you will need is a bucket of cold, clean water and fresh apples. Make sure to have an adult supervising the area to avoid any accidents or injuries.

Outdoor/Indoor Seating. Unfortunately, weather can be quite unpredictable in the fall. You will want to make sure you have provided enough outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. If you choose to host your party outdoors, provide some blankets and hot beverages.

DIY Centerpiece. A clever centerpiece for your dining room table is to remove the inside of apples and place tea light candles inside of them. Decorate the area surrounding the apples with acorns and other small fall finds.

Fall favorites. With the new season comes new food options, be sure to supply all of the fall favorites. From butternut squash soup to pumpkin pie, your guests’ mouthes will be watering before they arrive.

Bonfire. At the end of the night, your guests can cozy up to a warm bonfire. Make sure to pass out marshmallows and graham crackers for your guests to make s’mores!

Remember that the best way to get guests involved is to participate in the activities yourself. We hope you have an amazing fall party!!

Fall Garden Chores

As the seasons begin to change, there are some essential items you will need to check off your garden chore list. If your area has already begun getting cold, you may want to consider starting these chores this weekend. The last thing you want to do is wait until the first snow falls. So grab your gardening gloves and let us get started!

Fall Garden Chores:

Clean your gardening tools. Come next spring, you surely do not want to be pulling out dirty gardening tools. Now is the perfect time to clean and store your tools for next spring. Scrub off the dirt then place them inside of a bucket with soapy, warm water. Let them sit for an hour then dry them off to prevent rusting.

Take potted plants indoors. Before you bring your potted plants inside, you want to make sure that no creepy critters come with the plant. Experts recommend flushing out the soil a couple of time with water. The flushing can be done over the course of twenty minutes. Wait a couple of minutes before beginning the next flushing cycle. Also, remember to take out any dead or faded leaves from the potted plant. Lastly, you will want to add fresh mulch to your soil’s surface.

Reorganize your shed. Things may have gotten messy or misplaced during the summer. Take some time to reorganize everything before you lock it up for the winter months.

Remove gas from equipment. You will want to drain the gasoline from your power equipment before you store them. Also, this would be an excellent time to check their filters and see if they need replaced.

Rake your leaves. As the leaves begin to fall, you will want to start raking to avoid extra work at the end of the season. Although, we do recommend waiting until the end of fall to remove the leaves from your drains. This will prevent you for having to do it twice. But definitely make sure that you do not wait until the first snow. Snow will only make things more complicated.

Decorate. While you are working in your garden, it would be a great time to start decorating. You can go to your local farmer’s market and purchase some pumpkins and squash. You can even make a fun family night out of carving pumpkins together.

Stay warm and happy fall!

Organization is the foundation to a happy home. A chaotic organization system can lead to more messes and more time spent trying to clean them. To transform your home from unorganized to fully-systematized, stay tuned for our four expert organization tips.

Expert Organization Tips:

Tip No. One: Understand The Area.
It can be difficult to organize a room that does not hold a specific purpose. Take time to understand and determine what purpose each room holds in your house. If you have spaces that are unused, give them a specific purpose. For example if you have an extra bedroom that holds an old sewing machines and some random boxes, transform this space into a home office. You will find it easier to navigate and organize your belongings when all of the spaces in your home are defined and definite.

Tip No. Two: Go through EVERYTHING.
You cannot organize your home if you do not go through all of your belongings. This process may take a really long time; therefore, break it up into different rooms and do not move onto a new room until you have completed the current room. Go through closets, boxes, drawers, etc. You will want to sort everything out into four main piles: keep, donate, trash and put away for later. These piles will determine what stays in the room and what does not.

Tip No. Three: Invest in Organizers.
A struggle many homeowners will face is not owning enough organizing containers. You will want to purchase more containers to help you store items. You can buy bins for under your bed, baskets to sit on shelves, closet organizers, etc. There are an array of organization systems awaiting you online or at your local store.

Tip No. Four: Stay Motivated.
Organizing can be boring, let us be honest. To make organizing more fun, give yourself rewards. Once you complete a room, reward yourself with something that is special to you. This can help you stay on task and focused.

These tips are perfect for any room in your home. All it takes is a start date to transform your cluttered home into an organized masterpiece.
