Pictures outside are best taken an hour after sunrise or hour before sunset–this time is referred to as golden hour.
Uploading poor quality pictures is one of the worst mistakes you can make. Do not overly edit your photos; however, having proper lighting and contrast is very important. Try to use a camera with at least 5-megapixels. Most camera phones are great than this today. Remember, a well-edited photo can make a world of difference. You do not need to be a photoshop pro.
