Caprice by Dal-Tile is our product spotlight this week.  It’s a glass tile product.

This product would look great used as a backsplash in a bathroom (like the image to the left) or in the kitchen.  You could also put it in the shower as an accent strip.  Where do you envision this in your home?

Caprice comes in eight different colors! Which out of the eight colors pictured below is your favorite?  Do you like the lighter or darker options?  The lighter colors would look great against a dark counter top for contrast and vice versa for the darker colors against a light counter top.  If you want to bring in a subtle color into the room, Whisper Green might just be the choice for you.

Bathroom with Custom Cabinetry

Written by creatingyourspace on . Posted in Design and Decorating, Kitchen and Bath

7750935_SFor new construction or a remodel, using custom cabinetry is a smart idea to get the perfect look in the kitchen. The same feeling that custom cabinetry can give to a kitchen can also be achieved in the bathroom.  Custom cabinetry may be more than builder grade or ready-made cabinets from the box store, but it is probably less than you think, especially in the bathroom. Unlike the kitchen where you need both lower and upper cabinets, the bathroom requires less cabinetry.

Going with custom cabinetry for a vanity and storage in the bathroom gives you the ability to get exactly what you need in a style that is perfect for you.  This traditional bathroom has gorgeous crown molding and an architectural window. The cabinetry has an equally traditional look with crown molding and paneled door fronts.  The dark color is also a nice touch in this light filled bathroom.

If you choose custom cabinetry, you’ll want to make sure it fits with the other elements in the bathroom such as the flooring and fixtures.  Dark cabinets with dark wood or stone floors will feel more dramatic than a light filled bathroom with a white penny tile floor.  Working with a bathroom designer who handles custom cabinetry can help you create a unified design for the entire bathroom. Lighting, flooring, fixtures, tile and counter tops should all work with the vanity to create a beautiful and custom bathroom.  Accessories and towels will give the bathroom the final custom look that is just for you.
